Bhakri Recipe

Component:-

   • Millet flour - 1.5 cups

   • Salt - 1/2 tsp

   • Water - as required


   Description:-

   • Take a bowl, put water and salt in it, and bring it to a boil.

   • Sieve the flour in a bowl.

   • Keep adding the pre-heated water little by little to the flour and keep mixing it with a spoon.

   • Now knead well with your hands to make a soft dough.

   • Your dough is ready to make roti, now take a lemon sized portion from this dough.

   • On a clean surface, flatten the dough and press down with your palm.  Use dry flour to prevent it from sticking to your hands.

   • Keep pressing it until a flat roti of about 6-7" diameter is obtained.

   • Now heat the tawa.

   • Gently remove the pressed flat roti from the surface and place it in the hot pan.

   • To prevent drying of bhakri, sprinkle few drops of water on its top side.

   • After about a minute or two, flip and cook the other side as well (take care not to burn the roti).

   • When it is cooked from both the sides and brown spots appear, take it out from the pan.

   •  Spread some butter/ghee on the bhakri.

     Serve and eat Bhakri with any vegetable, chutney etc.
