Best Homemade Pizza Recipe
Material-
Flour
• Flour - seven cups,
• Kosher salt - four teaspoons,
• Active dry yeast - small tsp,
• Water at room temperature (plus one to two tablespoons of additional water as needed)
- Three cups,
• Cornmeal (or semolina) for the pizza peel
- Four tablespoons,
• Dough, extra for shaping,
Sauce
• Tomato paste - 6 oz,
• Hot water- a cup,
• Red wine vinegar - two tablespoons,
• Maple syrup, or honey - two teaspoons,
• Salt - 1 tsp as per taste
• Black pepper - half a teaspoon,
• Garlic, minced - three cloves,
• Dried carom seeds - small tsp,
• Dry Basil - half tsp,
• Dried marjoram - half tsp,
• Red chili - a quarter teaspoon,
Method-
• Take a big bowl, mix the dry ingredients and beat them together.
• Make a hole in the center of the flour mixture and add a few tablespoons of water (as needed). Stir with a wooden spoon, gradually adding more water until dough begins to come together. You may need a tablespoon or more of water, depending on the consistency of the dough as it is formed.
• Dip your hands into the batter and make sure the dough is well mixed but not kneaded. Be careful not to overwork the dough.
• Now cover it with plastic wrap and store at room temperature overnight or for at least ten to twelve hours, until it doubles in size and becomes porous.
• Take a medium bowl, mix tomato paste, water, vinegar, maple syrup, salt, pepper, garlic, thyme, basil, marjoram and red pepper in a bowl and make a sauce. Now let it rest at room temperature for half an hour before canning or jarring. Refrigerate as needed for up to two weeks.
• Once the dough is puffed, transfer to a clean, floured work surface and make a large dough. Divide the dough into six equal parts and fold the corners to make a dough.
• Place the dough ball on a floured sheet pan, sprinkle with flour, and cover with a damp cloth for about an hour.
• Now preheat the oven with a pizza stone to 260°c or on a low flame.
• Work each piece into a disc on a floured work surface. By patting the dough slowly and tossing the edges slowly, the dough will become thin. (Take care not to tear the dough while tossing it).
• Now place the dough disc on the pizza peel - generously flour with semolina or cornmeal. This will prevent sticking. Top with desired sauce, cheese and toppings.
• Slide the pizza in and bake for about ten minutes, checking it from time to time to make sure it doesn't burn.
• Your pizza is ready, let the pizza cool for five to ten minutes before cutting and serving. 🍕 🍕 🍕 🍕
• Hot pizza is ready, serve it.
